Château COUTET 2016
Château Coutet is located in Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux. It has been in the David Beaulieu family for over 400 years, and the terroir has never been chemically treated. The Château is now run by Alain David Beaulieu, his nephew Adrien and his son Matthieu. The vineyard obtained organic farming certification in 2012. The estate is divided into three plots; on the plateau of Saint-Martin, La Côte de Franc and Le Pied de Côte.
Château Coutet is a blend of 4 ancient grape varieties: Merlot à Queue Rouge, Bouchet (Cabernet Franc), Pressac (Malbec) and Cabernet Sauvignon with an average age of around 40 years. After manual harvests, fermentation occurs with native yeasts. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels and vats.
