Domaine Bernard GRIPA - Parady 2019
Domaine Bernard Gripa is located in Mauves, in the north of the Rhône Valley . The estate was created in 1974 and has been run since 2001 by his son Fabrice Gripa . It produces wines in the Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph appellations. The vineyard extends over a little less than 20 hectares on granite and limestone soils. The estate is run with respect for the environment and highlighting the terroir. In the cellar, he mainly uses 228-litre Burgundy barrels or 600-litre casks. The wines are aged in oak for between 8 and 12 months depending on the vintage.
The Parady cuvée is made from Syrah , grown in the place called Le Paradis, whose soil is made up of Granite de Tournon. The harvest is destemmed, and part is kept in whole bunches (10%). The alcoholic fermentation is carried out in open vats, with indigenous yeasts. Two daily pumping over or pigeage are carried out during the maceration which lasts approximately 3 weeks. The wine is transferred to oak barrels for aging for 2 years .
