NAGAHAMA - Bourbon Heavily Peated Single Cask n°#313 - 2017/2021 - 61.9%
Nagahama Distillery is located in Shiga, in Japan. It was founded as Nagahama Roman Beer Co. Ltd and started producing whisky in 2016. It is now known as the smallest distillery in Japan. It does not only produce Single Malt whisky, but also blends carefully selected whisky purchased from overseas and ages it in Nagahama’s climate. The capacity of the primary distillery pot is 1,000 litres, and the residual distiller is 500 litres, making them the smallest pots in Japan. The heating method is indirect by steam. The name of the still is “Aranbic”, named from its Arabian appearance. The water is drawn off the Mount Ibuki, rich in minerals and the barley, both peated and unpeated, is grown in England. The distillery is part of the Shin Group.
