Emmanuel Darnaud - Crozes Hermitage - Les Trois Chênes 2021
Domaine Emmanuel Darnaud is located in La Roche de Glun, in the north of the Rhône Valley . In 2001, Emmanuel Darnaud settled in Crozes-Hermitage with 1.50 hectares of leased vines. The estate today extends over 15 hectares in Crozes-Hermitage, including 0.25 hectares of white grape varieties, as well as 1.70 hectares in the Saint-Joseph appellation. The winemaker attaches great importance to vinifying each of his plots separately in order to highlight all the subtleties and expressions of the terroirs. The vineyard has been certified as High Environmental Value since 2020.
Les Trois Chênes is made from Syrah grown on a terroir of glacial alluvium made up of rolled pebbles in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. The age of the vines varies from 25 to 60 years. After manual harvesting, each plot is vinified in vats and aged separately in demi-muids or barrels . Part of the harvest is kept in whole bunches, and vatting lasts around 15 days.
Grape variety: 100% Syrah
