Champagne Jacques Selosse - Original Version
The Champagne House Jacques Selosse is located in the village of Avize , on the Côte des Blancs of Champagne . The family estate includes nearly 8 hectares of vines in the crus of Avize, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Ay, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Ambonnay . The estate was created in the 1950s by Jacques Selosse, who then sold a large part of his grapes to the Champagne House Lanson and he made his first wine in 1964. Ten years later, Anselme Selosse , his son, received the keys to the estate. Anselme distanced himself from the biodynamic doctrine, defying the usual codes and processes. The thoughts and reflections of Masanobu Fukuoa (a Japanese farmer) and permaculture had begun to inspire him and subsequently the attention he paid to the vine and wine. For the past twenty years, the Selosse family has developed its own viticulture system, which is an approach that does not follow a fixed method, but rather constantly adapts to the circumstances encountered throughout the growing season in the different plots of the vineyard.
Version Originale is a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay sourced exclusively from the Grand Cru Avize.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
