Maison Stephan - Syrah 2018
Maison Stéphan is located in Tupin-et-Semons, in Côte-Rôtie in the Rhône Valley. Jean-Michel Stéphan , through his father and great-grandfather, comes from a family of market gardeners and fruit growers. Originally, the wine estate included 2 hectares of AOC Côte-rôtie, the grapes of which were sold to a local wine merchant. It was only in 1994 that the estate's first bottles were marketed. In 1991, Jean-Michel Stéphan created the estate and started the production of organic wine in 1995. The first production of natural wine followed in 1997, with the approach of Jules Chauvet. In 2017, Jean-Michel Stéphan joined forces with his son Romain to create Maison Stéphan and began to build its future.
This vintage is made from Syrah grown on a terroir of ancient Rhône alluvial deposits and glacial moraine. The wine is aged for 8 months in concrete vats .
Grape variety: 100% Syrah
