RHUM LONGUETEAU - Cuvée Solidarité France - Pour la passion des Chefs - 50%
The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766, but it was not until the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, put up for auction following the crisis of the sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance to change the domain from sugar refinery to distillery. Today, François Longueteau manages the House, the only distillery in Guadeloupe whose owner is both the farmer and the master distiller.
“Pour la Passion des Chefs” (“For the Passion of Chefs”) cuvée is a partnership between Longueteau and a charity founded by Sébastien Ripari, which aims to support hospitality and restaurants following the Covid-19 crisis of 2019/2020 and the economic repercussions it has has spawned. The association also supports the hospital staff who were mobilised during this pandemic. Thus, for each bottle purchased, € 3 is donated to the association "La Passion des Chefs", which then book meals in partner restaurants and invites caregivers.
The Rum is made from Blue Cane harvested on three plots of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie and is aged in stainless steel vats for more than 12 months.
