Domaine Aux Moines - Le Berceau des Fées - Magnum 2024
Domaine Aux Moines, located on the slopes of Savennières in Anjou, majestically overlooks the Loire Valley. Run by Monique and Tessa Laroche, this historic estate embodies the elegance and depth of Loire Chenin Blanc. Cultivated organically and managed with respect for natural rhythms, the vineyard flourishes on the schist and chert soils typical of the appellation, giving the wines their mineral tension and singular energy.
The 2024 Le Berceau des Fées vintage is made from young Chenin Blanc vines planted on these exceptional terroirs, carefully vinified to express the full purity of the fruit and the freshness of the vintage. Naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts and then aged on fine lees, this wine combines the structure of Chenin Blanc with a remarkably delicate texture. In magnum format, it gains in breadth and aging potential, allowing for a slow and harmonious evolution that enhances its vibrant youthfulness.
On the nose, the wine reveals a luminous bouquet of green apple, pear, ripe lemon, and white flowers, enhanced by a touch of wet stone and acacia honey. On the palate, the structure is lively, taut, and crystalline, supported by a fine, slightly saline texture. The citrus and white fruit aromas linger in a long, pure, and mineral finish, typical of great Chenin Blancs from Savennières.
This wine can be enjoyed now for its vibrant freshness, but it will also age gracefully for several years in the cellar, gaining in complexity and honeyed nuances. It will pair elegantly with grilled fish, shellfish, a seasonal vegetable risotto, or a mature goat cheese.
