Domaine Chantal Lescure - Pommard 1er Cru - Les Bertins 2018
Domaine Chantal Lescure is located in the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges, in Burgundy. Founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont, the family estate now operates 19 hectares of vines, to the north on the slopes of Dijon and to the south as far as Meursault. Aymeric and Thibault Machard de Gramont, Chantal Lescure's two sons, took over the estate when their mother passed away in 1996. Each year, they produce 19 cuvées from 35 plots. The vineyard has been fully cultivated in certified organic farming since 2006.
Pommard Premier Cru Les Bertins comes from young Pinot Noir vines planted on an area of 1 hectare. After the manual harvest, the grapes are sorted, destemmed and not crushed. A pre-fermentation maceration is carried out, followed by a gentle and long fermentation in stainless steel vats. The vatting lasts 18 to 25 days, the punching down is moderate. The aging takes place in a cold cellar on the lees, in 228 and 500-litres barrels with 30 to 50% new oak.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
