THE SPIRIT OF CHEVALIER 2014
Domaine de Chevalier is located in Pessac-Léognan , a sub-region of the Graves appellation in Bordeaux. It is classified Grand Cru Classé de Graves . The Domaine de Chevalier has the particularity of having kept its title of "domain", more common in Burgundy than in Bordeaux. In 1983, the estate passed under its current ownership when it was bought by the Bernard family , who renovated the cellar and enlarged the vineyard. The estate has around 45 hectares of vines on soils rich in gravel and clay, most of which is devoted to red grape varieties.
L'Esprit de Chevalier is the estate's second wine. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot (5%) . The wine is aged for 14 months in oak barrels , 1/3 of which are new barrels.
