Château DU GLANA 2011
The Château du Glana is located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux. Initially, the Château du Glana included 5 hectares of vines and, after a series of owners and vineyard extensions, the property was acquired by Gabriel Meffre in 1961. The Meffre family is still in charge today, with Jean-Paul and his two sons Ludovic and Julien who run the management of the château and its 60 hectares of vines. They undertook major renovations to the estate, which included the restoration of the vat room and aging cellars.
The Grand Vin of Château du Glana is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) and Merlot (35%). The grapes undergo a 48-hour cold pre-fermentation maceration for the extraction of colour, tannins and aromas. The plot vinification is traditional and carried out in concrete and metal vats. The fermentation lasts 3 weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels.
Grape varieties: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot
