Château Ferrière is one of the less publicized margalais vintages and yet the work carried out since the 1993 vintage by Claire Villars fully highlights this beautiful 10ha terroir. It is the smallest of the classified growths of 1855. Powerful in its youth, this third classified growth presents the typical characteristics of the north of the Margaux appellation. Time refines the tannins and after seven years elegance is the order of the day. When Claire talks about wine, her eyes sparkle: “Ferrière has the typical characteristics of the north of the appellation, taking on a powerful side in its youth before refining itself over the years; in this very masculine world I try to work as best I can by trying to overcome this opposition between man and woman, but for me it would be more of an advantage to belong to the female sex because there are fewer of us. ”The fervor of words reveals an energetic woman who knows how to stay calm and composed while retaining that natural simplicity that befits Ferrière so well.
