Located to the south-west of the town of Pauillac, the Batailley castle dates from the mid-19th century. Its name refers to a battle between French and English that took place on its soil. This estate belongs to the Castéja family who owns other great vintages: Haut-Bages-Monpelou in Pauillac, Beau-Site in Saint-Estèphe, Trottevieille and Bergat in Saint-Emilion and the Domaine de l'Eglise in Pomerol. The wines of Château Batailley are balanced and exhale intense aromas of fruit. Rich and deeply colored, these wines gain in quality over the vintages.
