Saint-Estèphe

The estate was born at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century when Etienne de Lafon, a member of Parliament from the Gironde, acquired by marriage land located at a place called "La Rochette" in Saint Estèphe, land which he had planted with vines. The estate will remain in the Lafon family until 1880. Already very popular at the end of the 18th century, when it adopted the name of Lafon-Rochet, the wine was classified 4th Grand Cru in 1855.
