The terroir, marked by the violence of the Rhône, is made up of rolled pebbles which store the heat of the sun during the day and return it to the vines at night. This porous and filtering soil and the spectacular variations in temperature give the wines their great minerality. An ethical estate that respects the environment, Château de Courthézon prohibits the use of chemical fertilizers by replacing them with compost produced on the property and which allows the vines to maintain their micro-biological balance.
