Château LA MONTAGNE (BASTOR-LAMONTAGNE) 1925 Sauternes
Château LA MONTAGNE (BASTOR-LAMONTAGNE) 1925
In 1711, Château Bastor-Lamontagne was owned by the King of France. He sold it a few years later to Sieur Vincent de la Montaigne. It was not until the 19th century that the estate really turned to viticulture thanks to the Larrieu family, in particular Amédée Larrieu, also owner of Château Haut-Brion. He bought Château Bastor-Lamontagne in 1839, a time when sweet wines were very popular. The château is now owned by Foncier-Vignobles and is part of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. Located in Preignac, south of Bordeaux, in the Sauternes appellation, the 56-hectare estate produces sweet wines from Sémillon (the majority grape), Sauvignon and Muscadelle.
Former name of Bastor La Montagne, this bottle comes from a very beautiful cellar in the Sauternes region. The bottle has never left this cellar since its purchase at the time.
All the bottles displayed in our website are stocked in our cellar in Bordeaux.
