Gabriel de Vigneau was the first owner from 1635 of the Sauternes Rayne Vigneau vineyard. His daughter-in-law, daughter of the Lord of Yquem, quickly took over the destiny of the property. Madame de Rayne, bought the Domaine du Vigneau in 1834. Premier Cru of the Sauternes appellation, Rayne Vigneau has belonged since 2004 to CA Grands Crus, a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole Group.
Today, the château embodies a sure bet of the appellation claiming, vintage after vintage, a style full of intensity, freshness and length.
