Château BASTOR-LAMONTAGNE - Sans étiquette 1937 Sauternes
Château BASTOR-LAMONTAGNE - Without label 1937
The field is named Knight of Montaigne, counselor to the parliament of Bordeaux who owned it in 1711. On the map Belleyme established at the end of the eighteenthcentury "Bastore" is already an important area, but the real boom of believe will work in the nineteenthcentury Amédée Larrieu who was also owner of Château Haut-Brion in Pessac.
At Château Bastor-Lamontagne, the expression of fruit and harmony have always been privileged: often referred to as “modern Sauternes”, the wines possess finesse and balance making them pleasant to drink at any time. Although it can keep for a long time, Château Bastor-Lamontagne is a wine that can be enjoyed young thanks to its liveliness and elegance.
Vintage 1937 ... a legendary year! One of the best years of Sauternes of all time. The label has unfortunately not survived well over the years, but the wine is still there.
