Château BASTOR-LAMONTAGNE 2018
Château Bastor-Lamontagne is located in Preignac, one of the five communes of the Sauternes appellation in Bordeaux. The estate takes its name from the Chevalier de la Montaigne, adviser to the parliament of Bordeaux and owner of the Château in 1711. It gained notoriety under the influence of Amédée Larrieu who was also the owner of Château Haut-Brion in Pessac. The Château has known several owners: Crédit Foncier de France (1936), the Moulin-Houzé and Cathiard families (2014) and the Helfrich family since 2018. The estate covers 50 hectares in one piece, planted mainly in Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard has been managed in certified organic farming since 2016. A long-term program to renovate the vineyard has been implemented: uprooting of vines that are too old and/or located on medium-quality terroirs and new plantings.
The Sauternes is a blend of Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon Blanc (20%).
Grape varieties: 80% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc
