JOHNNIE WALKER - Blue Label - 40%
Johnnie Walker is the world's best-selling Scottish Blended Whisky brand. It takes its origins in the John Walker grocery store in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. He died in 1857, three years before blended whisky became legal in Scotland, and so it was his son and grandsons who were primarily responsible for the development of Walker's blend. The distinctive square bottle was introduced in 1860. In 1908, the name was changed from Walker's Kilmarnock Whiskies to Johnnie Walker Whisky, and the image of the Gentleman Regency was created by designer Tom Brown. Johnnie Walker joined Distillers Company in 1925, which in turn was acquired by Guinness in 1986. Since 1997, the brand has been part of the Diageo range. The Kilmarnock plant was closed in 2012 and production moved to Leven and Glasgow. According to the Labels (Red, Black, Green, Blue…), the blend varies.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label commemorates “Old Highland Whisky”. In 1867, Alexander, the son of John Walker, created this whisky which was then considered a masterpiece of the art of blending, bringing together the finest flavors from all over Scotland.
