PLANTATION - West Indies - Barbados 10 ans - Single Cask American Stout Beer - Clos des Millesimes - 47.6%
The history of Plantation begins in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered Maison Ferrand in Cognac. He surrounds himself with a team of enthusiasts and travels around the world to establish a distribution network sharing the same values and the same vision as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he set off for the Caribbean with the idea of reselling some of his used Cognac barrels to other producers, notably rum producers. In search of the best rums in the Caribbean, he created Plantation, a range of terroir rums. Today, the House is focused on three great spirits: Cognac Ferrand from Grande Champagne, French Gin Citadelle and Rum from Terroirs Plantation. Plantation also owns West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, and is a shareholder of National Rum of Jamaica (Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond).
This Single Cask Collection was selected by Fabien Bouchereau, founder of Clos des Millésimes and passionate about rum. This 10-year-old rum comes from Barbados, made from molasses and distilled in a copper and column still. It was aged 4 years in Bourbon barrels, 5 and a half years in Maison Ferrand barrels and finally matured for 6 months in American barrel-aged Imperial stout beer casks. It contains 113 g / hL AA esters. 132 bottles were bottled from this cask.
