Deutz - Love of Deutz - Box 2011
The Deutz Champagne House is located in Aÿ, in the Marne Valley in Champagne . It was founded in 1838 by wine merchants William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann. In 1983, after generations of ownership by the Deutz and Geldermann families, the company was sold to the Rouzaud family, owners of Louis Roederer . Nearly 80% of the fruit comes from Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites. Most of the Deutz vineyards are in the Aÿ region, with additional parcels in the Côte des Blancs. The house also uses grapes from growers under contract. In the cellar, the still base wines are vinified in stainless steel vats. After the second fermentation, the bottles are aged in underground cellars.
Amour de Deutz 2011 is a Blanc de Blancs from a blend of plots of Chardonnay from great terroirs: Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Villeneuve, Vertus and Villiers-Marmery. It is aged in vats and then the bottles benefit from prolonged ageing.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
