Reimonenq - White Rum - Centenary (1916-2016) - Heart of distillation - 2015 vintage - 50%
The Reimonenq Distillery is located in Sainte Rose , Guadeloupe . In 1915, Joseph Reimonenq bought an old cocoa and medicinal plant plantation from Doctor Diavet and work began to clear the land for the planting of sugar cane and the construction of the distillery, which was then made of wood. Joseph Reimonenq worked in a bank and was also responsible for negotiating the sale of rum to mainland France and the administration of the distillery while Fernand Reimonenq took care of the land and the day-to-day management of the estate. André Bon joined forces with them and provided them with a steam engine and a mill. A few years later, he sold his shares and left for Bordeaux where he traded sugar and rum. When Fernand died, his son Léopold Reimonenq continued the adventure. However, in 1970, the distillery was destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt and began producing rum again in 1974.
The centenary vintage (1916 / 2016) pays tribute to Joseph and Fernand Reimonenq, the pioneers of rum in 1916. This limited edition comes from the distillation of pure sugar cane juice, aged for 15 months in vats.
