Mas Mellet - Les Salines - Rosé 2024
Mas Mellet is located in Gallician , in Costières-de-Nîmes in the Gard region . The estate was taken over in 2002 by Emilie and Brice Bolognini , when they were in their twenties. They work the 27 hectares of vines that were abandoned using organic farming , certified since 2007.
Les Salines is a cuvée produced in collaboration with Eric Pfifferling , from Domaine de l'Anglore located in the Rhône Valley, in Tavel . This natural rosé wine is made from Carignan from three different clos, on vines planted in 1948, 1963 and 1966. The grapes are harvested manually and sorting is carried out at the plot and then in the cellar. The harvest is refrigerated overnight and then transferred to vats by gravity. It macerates for another night and is then devatted, by gravity, the next day. The pressing and flow of the juices is done in old barrels over 10 years old. The wine is aged in barrels until the new moon in March.
Grape variety: 100% Carignan
"A signature rosé, the opposite of thirst-quenching rosés. On the nose, aromas of wild strawberry, orange peel, and dried rose petal. The palate surprises with its elegant tension, its light saline touch, and its ultra-fine tannic texture."
