Château L'EGLISE CLINET 1978

In 1882, the great-great-grandfather of Denis Durantou, current owner and manager of the premises, created the Château l'Eglise-Clinet by assembling several small plots of the Clos de l'Eglise and the Domaine de Clinet that the Durantou family operated for over a century.

Thus it constitutes a vineyard of 4.5 hectares around the Saint-Jean de Pomerol Church, in the heart of one of the most prestigious appellations of the Right Bank. The steep and well-drained clay-gravelly terroir is very favorable to Merlot and Cabernet Franc - which represent 85 and 15% of the surface respectively.

Cultivated in a sustainable way, these vines give birth to one of the most beautiful Pomerols, near the Château Petrus . The vines over 40 years old are harvested by hand by an experienced team before a goldsmith vinification, which gives birth to rich, elegant and captivating wines.
