 The Blanc du Château Vieux Taillefer is an unusual and unique wine, it is a wine made from vines located in the town of Saint Christophe des Bardes, in the heart of one of the most beautiful terroirs of Saint Emilion. The vines are over 75 years old, limestone soil with asterias, a blend of 5 different grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc for the most part, but also Sémilion Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Merlot Blanc, Chasselas ...
This white wine is the oldest parcel referenced in white grape varieties in Saint Emilion, in reality it is the only one that is not a creation, but a testimony to the history and heritage of Saint Emilion, its terroir is exceptional and its unique and rare wine.
The INAO does not recognize this wine as a Saint Emilion cru, nor does it recognize it as a Bordeaux wine on the pretext that the Merlot Blanc grape variety is an "accessory" Sic! INAO seems to forget that the production of Blanc in Saint Emilion was in the majority 200 years ago ...
We directly claim this belonging to the Saint Emilion appellation, not to create the Buzz ... but because some of these vines are over 100 years old.
Classic vinification, manual harvest, pressing by pneumatic pressure, settling, aging in oak barrels, filtration and bottling by gravity.
This micro plot produces 1200 bottles.
