Château Calon-Ségur is a great wine from Saint-Estèphe, 3rd classified grand cru.
The 1970 vintage, very well received at its release, offered its best results in Bordeaux where the great wines of Pomerol, Graves and Médoc are still highly sought after.
Château Calon Ségur is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, its history dating back to Gallo-Roman times.
The name of Calon is taken from “Calones”, a term designating goods boats on the Gironde, and that of Ségur comes from the Marquis Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, owner of the Château in the 18th century as well as of the Latour and Lafite castles. and Mouton.
Château Calon Ségur is today 55 hectares of vines in one piece and enclosed by walls, Cabernet-Sauvignon constituting more than 50% of the grape varieties.
All the bottles displayed in our website are stocked in our cellar in Bordeaux.
