Château CALON SÉGUR 2005

Third Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, Château Calon Ségur is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, with a presence of Calon located by historians in the Gallo-Roman era. Later, in the 18th century, the property took on a new dimension with the Marquis Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, owner of Latour, Lafite and Mouton.

The 2005 vintage is exceptional in Bordeaux. On the great Saint-Estèphe terroir occupied by Château Calon Ségur, the vintage produces a high quality wine, marked by the finesse and elegance, signature of the property. The balance between exceptional intensity and great softness is respected, the wine having present tannins but full of finesse, a texture that is both caressing and dense. Château Calon Ségur 2005 presents pleasant aromas of black fruits (black cherry in particular), touches of chocolate, spices, dried fruits and even leather.
