The Figeac estate is located in the region of “Graves de Saint-Emilion”, which represents 60 hectares out of the 5500 in the appellation. Figeac alone has half of this exceptional terroir, divided into three ridges called, Les Moulins, La Terrasse and l'Enfer. This very particular gravelly soil mixes indifferently with clay, iron filth and ancient sands, a bit like in Pomerol that nothing really separates from Figeac. We understand better why Figeac represents the highest proportion of Cabernet of the entire appellation. (35% cabernet franc, 35% cabernet sauvignon) In 1995, Thierry Manoncourt celebrated his 50th vintage of Figeac, rewarding us with an exceptional bottle matched for the occasion with an original label.
