Château LÉOVILLE BARTON 2011

This superb 2nd Classified Growth of Saint-Julien testifies to an impressive qualitative regularity and much appreciated by amateurs. Acquired in 1826 by the Barton family from Ireland, the estate still belongs to them today; it is directed by Lilian Barton-Sartorius. The 50 hectares of Léoville Barton vines, mainly planted with cabernet-sauvignon (74%), are located on a magnificent terroir of gravel on clay. The tides of the nearby Gironde ensure moderate temperatures in winter and summer.

The grapes show remarkable maturity and concentration due to the age of the vineyard. As for the vinifications, they are supervised by Eric Boissenot, consultant oenologist of the greatest wines of the Médoc. At the same time supple, velvety and very elegant, the wines of Léoville Barton offer a very seductive fruit on blackcurrant and cherry, with a hint of spices.

Assembly; Cabernet sauvignon 80%, Merlot 15 % and Cabernet franc 5 %

The second wine of the château is La Réserve de Léoville Barton.
