MARCH - Blended Malt Whiskey - Cosmo - 43%

Located in the heart of the Japanese Alps, the Shinshu distillery was founded in 1985. Sleeping for a few years, it resumed its activity in 2011. Two absolutely superb versions of its single malt called “Mars The Revival 2011” and “Mars Komagatake Sherry & American White Oak 2011 ”have since emerged. Cosmo is not a single malt but a blended malt made up of course from Mars but also from Scottish single malts. Wonderfully oxidative and extrovert, this one shows great maturity while retaining the fiery spirit of its youth. Great art in terms of assembly.

Profile: fine, heady. Notes of brandy cherry and Williams pear. Almost vanilla malt. Red and black fruits (raspberry, blueberry, blackberry). Rocky, mineral (schist, slate). Fresh cut grass, peppermint.
