Château Haut-Marbuzet is, like its owners, a wine with a strong personality which has managed to rise to the highest level of its appellation, while maintaining a relatively attractive price.
The grapes are harvested by hand, ripe to very ripe. The vinification is carried out in intentionally traditional equipment , concrete or wooden vats temperature-controlled by heat exchanger. Aging takes place in 100% new barrels for 18 months. Particular care is taken in the choice of barrels for each vintage.
The nose is marked by ripe fruit. On the palate, after sufficient aging, the wine appears rich, intense, solid and velvety . The use of ripe fruits, a rather long maceration and the contribution of wood make it possible to round off the solid structure of Saint-Estèphe and to obtain a charming and generous wine. It is in this sense, a "modern" wine, easy to drink after a few years while being sufficiently robust.
