JJ PRÜM - Himmelreich R. Auslese Goldkap (Sweet) 2005 A legendary Moselle estate, JJ Prüm was born in 1911 from the division of the family estate established in the 17th century. Sébastien Prüm and then his son, Dr. Manfred Prüm, at its head since 1969, have made it one of the undisputed stars of the Moselle. The vineyard covers 22 hectares spread over several prestigious plots (Graacher Himmelreich, Badstube in Bernkastel, etc.), the flagship of which is the highly renowned Wehlener Sonnenuhr. After fermentation in vats and aging in old 1000-liter barrels, the Rieslings can begin their long life in the bottle, which some describe as immortal. One thing is certain: the fascinating and mineral character of JJ Prüm Rieslings is not revealed to the impatient but reaches the sublime with time. Pure, precise, and refreshing, this Riesling opens on the nose with fresh slate aromas dotted with drops of acacia honey. Extremely well-defined, it expresses intense ripe fruit aromas of apple, pear, and blood orange on the palate, supported by characteristic notes of slate and vanilla. Its crystalline finish is long, pure, and refined, enhanced with hints of smoke and anise.
