DOMAINE DE L'AURAGE 2015

 The latest addition to the Mitjavile family, the Domaine de l'Aurage covers around ten hectares in the town of Saint-Gènes-de-Castillon, attached to the AOC Castillon Côte de Bordeaux. The vines are still young but the breed of wines is already there. The grape variety is concentrated on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The soils are clay-limestone with siliceous parts at the bottom of the slope.

The color shows less concentration than Roc de Cambes or Tertre Roteboeuf. The nose is typical of Mitjavile pate with a very ripe fruitiness very marked upon opening. Mainly candied cherry. Sweet spices well represented reveal vanilla, coffee and chocolate. The palate is rather tender and supple despite the fairly high alcohol levels. The tannins are very silky and the whole offers incomparable pleasure. A very good quality / price ratio for the best of Castillon!
