CLOS FOURTET 1992

For centuries, this former "Camp Fortet" (small fort) overlooks the historic town of Saint-Émilion, watching over it in times of prosperity and defending it in times of war. Its 20 ha vineyard in one piece is located on the highest slopes of the west of Saint-Émilion. The surrounding walls and the building come from the eminent limestone plateau on which they are erected. Since the start of the 1956 classification, Clos Fourtet has been one of the elite of the Premiers Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Émilion.

The vineyard is located at the top of Saint-Émilion, where the limestone is most exposed, thus inducing excellent drainage. This predominantly limestone gives the wine an inimitable freshness, minerality and a delicacy of tannins. The result is a strong identity of our wine so dear to our passionate amateurs who speak of a Clos Fourtet style. We work in synergy with the nature that surrounds us and take the greatest care in cultivating our land.

Clos Fourtet wines, as Premier Grand Cru Classé, are the symbol of Saint-Émilion refinement. Sweet, singular and seductive, their pure aromas are delicately interwoven and bear witness to the unparalleled potential of our terroir. Our wine is our pride and the culmination of all our efforts. As time passes, it unfolds, develops and refines.
