Château RAYMOND LAFON 2005
The Sauternes appellation has around 2000 ha of vines which rest on gravelly soil, the subsoil being clay and limestone. The maximum authorized yield is 25 hectoliters per hectare.
The property has 18 hectares in appellation, 16 of which are in production. Most of the plots are grouped around the Château, in the communes of Sauternes, Bommes and Preignac.
At the heart of the most famous Sauternes vintages, the vineyard benefits from a remarkable exposure and combines the best conditions to produce a very great Sauternes wine.
The castle produces sweet wines of very great reputation. Among the 5 best of the appellation.
