CHATEAU LA NEGLY - Le Clos des Truffiers 1999
The Château de la Négly is located in Occitanie, facing the Mediterranean, in the La Clape massif.
Thanks to an exceptional privileged geographical location, a unique alchemy of the elements takes place: caressed by the sea spray, tossed between Tramontana and Wind Marin, this sun-drenched Earth captures the heat to warm the grains which are gorged with golden light.
The grape greedily receives these treasures that nature offers it. It can then begin its slow maturation by restoring them generously.
It is there, in this soil rich in alluvial contribution, that the jewels of Château La Négly are developed with patience and know-how, in the pure respect of an authentic ancestral tradition.
It is implemented in this wine estate distinguished by the name of Château from the beginning of its history.
In the 18th century, the Château bore the name of Ancely. It was in 1781 that the property took the name of Nerly to finally be called La Négly in 1807.
Le Clos des Truffiers -
Located on the heights of the town of Saint Pargoire in the Hérault, the plots of Syrah produce today one of the greatest wines of Languedoc. These Syrahs are part of the oldest vines in Languedoc, family heritage. The first bottle of Clos will see the light of day in 1997. This vintage steeped in history will propel the estate among the best wines in the world. The 3.5 ha which constitute the entire cuvée are harvested manually and repatriated by refrigerated truck to the Château de la Négly 50 kilometers away. Once received, the harvest, packaged in a 7kg crate, will undergo a very selective sorting before being vatted in a new wooden conical trunk for a vinification of around 45 days. 24-month aging is necessary for the proper maturation of such a nectar.
