The Grand Cru Bruderthal is located on the Molsheimer Berg in a small valley in the center of the Molsheim vineyard. The rows of vines are nestled between the walls of a geological depression and a lush forest which delimits the upper part of the vineyard.
Geologically, this Grand Cru is part of the limestone family, with a marl-limestone tendency: a very homogeneous marl-limestone layer rests on a substrate of limestone and dolomite from the upper Muschelkalk and Lettenkohle. It is a poor soil, almost skeletal which becomes more and more stony as one goes up in the slope.
