Château LA FLEUR PÉTRUS 1990
Pomerol
Ideally located on the Pomerol plateau, surrounded by more than prestigious neighbors, Pétrus and Lafleur, Château La Fleur-Pétrus has long been a region recognized for the quality of its wines. During the 19th century, the Constant family was at the head of this small estate, in fact it only produced 4,800 bottles at the time.
At the end of the century, it was the Pineaus who held the estate, and it was enlarged and now produced around twenty barrels per year. In 1953, Jean-Pierre Moueix acquired the property. It is from this moment that the wine reaches the level of superior quality that it still offers today. The terrible frost of 1956 will have catastrophic consequences, Jean-Pierre Moueix is forced to replant almost the entire vineyard. With the passing years, the vines age and the wine naturally gains in richness and complexity. In 1995, the vineyard grew, four hectares of the neighbor, Château le Gay, were bought. However Moueix assures that the quality and style of the wine will remain unchanged.
The technical direction, common to the various Jean-Pierre Moueix properties, has long been ensured by Jean-Claude Berrouet (who vinified for many years at Petrus), it passes in 2007 in the hands of Eric Murisasco who continues to benefit from the advice of Jean -Claude Berrouet as consultant. Fleur Petrus is now one of the stars of the Pomerol appellation.
