The origins of the Château Fombrauge vineyard date back to the 16th century, making it one of the oldest wines of Saint-Emilionnais. Its beautiful Charterhouse was originally a Carthusian cloister. Owned by Jacques de Canolle in 1466, the castle then belonged to the Dumas de Fombrauge family who in the 18th century turned it into a real application school for viticulture. A classified growth of Saint-Emilion, it has been owned by Bernard Magrez since 1999.
