This high-level cru is found in the area of Grand Poujeaux, a magnificent gravelly ridge in the clay-limestone subsoil. It belongs to the family Cuvelier since 2008, already owner of the Château Clos Fourtet in Saint-Emilion. Matthieu Cuvelier manages the estate, with the support of Christophe Labenne. The brilliant consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt follows the winemaking process.
The 65-hectare vineyard has 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, with a high proportion of Merlot (40%) and the rest in Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
Poujeaux is a charming and voluminous wine, with tannins coated, easy to drink from a young age.
