Château PAPE CLÉMENT 1924
Château Pape Clément is located in the appellation of Pessac-Léognan in the region of Bordeaux. The château takes its name from its founder, Bertrand de Got, who was the Archbishop of Bordeaux and became Pope Clément V in 1305. It is currently part of the Bernard Magrez group of estates. The Pape Clément vineyard is situated on a mix of gravel-sand and clay-limestone soils, with a chalky subsoil rich in iron. Thirty hectares are planted in red grape varieties and 2.5 hectares planted to white grape varities.
The vintage 1924 was a beautiful vintage; the wines are generally healthy, quite full-bodied, supple and elegant with a long cellaring capacity.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
