Château Pouget took its name with the arrival of François-Antoine Pouget at the head of the estate, in 1748. The marshal-duke of Richelieu, very attached to the wine, will give him the coat of arms which always sits on the label. But Château Pouget really enters the history of the great Bordeaux in 1855 with the accession to the rank of fourth Grand Cru Classé. The Marshal-Duke of Richelieu is at the origin of the coat of arms and the motto of Château Pouget. "Love on your heart will extend its power. Your verb will be clear like the rooster's song. Like the Lion you will not fear the shock. If you have a lot of nectar you fill up the belly. Since 1906, the domain is in the hands of the family Guillemet. As an experienced technical director, Lucien Guillemet ensures that his wine expresses the beauty of these serious soils that make the world dream. With him, Château Pouget is led with conviction and subtlety.
Margaux par excellence, amazing marriage of depth and finesse. Château Pouget pays particular attention to the date of harvest, so as to obtain grapes at optimal maturity sorted in the vineyard as in the cellar expressing all the finesse of this great terroir.
