Château BEAUREGARD 1995
Château Beauregard is located east of Pomerol, near Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux region. The property was founded in 1677 by Bernard Beauregard, although it did not become a large-scale wine producer until the 1800s. In 1991, it left family ownership and was acquired by BPCE Bank. BPCE then sold it in 2014 to a partnership between the Moulin family, owners of the Galeries Lafayette and Monoprix retail businesses, and the Cathiards of Smith Haut Lafitte. The vineyard covers 17.5 hectares where more than 35 plots are cultivated organically.
Today, Château Beauregard is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc where the grapes are fermented in large modern cement vats at controlled temperature. The wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels, with around two thirds of new oak.
1995 is a great vintage for the Pomerol Rouge. This vintage has reached maturity but can also be stored until 2025.
No information has been communicated on the winemaking of Château Beauregard in old vintages.
