Bruno Duchêne - Vall Pompo 2020

Domaine Bruno Duchêne is located in Banyuls, on the Côte Vermeille in Roussillon. It was created by Bruno Duchêne in 2002. Before, Bruno Duchêne was a distributor of wild mushrooms in the Loire Valley. He owns 4 hectares spread over 4 plots in Banyuls and Collioure. The vines are cultivated organically, and due to the ideal climate of the region, Bruno does on average only 3 sulfur treatments per year (which is low) and as the odium is not a problem either, the copper is never used. The wines ferment spontaneously in vats, then are racked in barrels for aging.

Vall Pompo comes from a plot of Grenache Blanc vines which are around twenty years old. The grapes are put in direct pressing and the wine is aged in Burgundy pieces.
