THE BORDEAUX OF MAUCAILLOU 2019
Château Maucaillou is located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation (between the most famous Margaux and Saint-Julien), in Bordeaux . The Moulis de Maucaillou vineyard is said to be the oldest in the Médoc, with title deeds dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The commercial history of the property dates back to 1871, when the cellars were built by the merchant family Petit-Laroche, and the physical chateau was built four years later. The estate grew after its sale in 1929 to the Dourthe family . They increased the plantings from just over 2 hectares to 32 hectares in the 1980s, and 62 hectares today. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot make up over 90% of production, with the rest going to Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
B de Maucaillou is a cuvée produced in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot vinified in stainless steel vats.
