Champagne Marie Courtin - Efflorescence - Extra Brut 2018
Domaine Marie Courtin is located in Polisot, in the Côte des Bar region of Champagne . It was founded in 2005 by Dominique Moreau , and pays tribute to his grandmother, Marie Courtin, a farmer who worked her land with horses during the First World War. Dominique Moreau cultivates a 2.5-hectare vineyard using biodynamic methods, using vines from massal selection, mainly Pinot Noir, but also Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Arbane. The Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils, similar to those of Chablis, give the wines a characteristic minerality and freshness.
Efflorescence is a Blanc de Noirs produced from Pinot Noir from mass selection. Fermentation takes place in used barrels with indigenous yeasts. All yeasts are selected from their plot of origin and cultivated separately. The wine is aged on slats for 36 months . It is bottled with an Extra-Brut dosage.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
