Squadron 303 - Vodka - Peated - The Peatfire Flask - 40%
Squadron 303 Spirits is a spirits brand that refers to the Royal Air Force 's most formidable squadron during World War II. It was made up of Polish pilots, who introduced vodka to their English comrades-in-arms. In return, the latter introduced the Polish pilots to Irish, Scottish, and English whiskies. Many stories tell of this growing interest of Squadron 303 pilots for fine whiskies, which they discovered during their deployments to Royal Air Force bases in England and Scotland.
Squadron 303 Vodka is produced from King Edward potatoes and is distilled only once. For this Peatfire edition, the potatoes are dried by peat fire . The bottle, called "Original Flask Squadron 303 Vodka", is inspired by the hip flasks of Royal Air Force pilots during World War II. Designed by French and English artisans, this nearly 2 kilo white glass bottle has a metal base screen-printed with the Squadron 303 vodka motto "Originally Distilled in England by Polish Heroes" and a chrome-plated brass cap displaying the brand's crest.
" A subtly smoky, almost earthy nose, reminiscent of a campfire on a remote airbase. On the palate, the sweetness of King Edward potato meets the dryness of peat, with a long, elegant, slightly salty finish. A whisky-style vodka that blurs the lines with panache!"
