Domaine Les Creisses - Les Creisses Red 2023
Domaine des Creisses is located in Valros, in the IGP Pays de l'Hérault region of Languedoc . The family estate was created in the 19th century and was taken over by Philippe Chesnelong in 1998. Louis Mitjavile, his cousin, brings his expertise to the winemaking and aging process. The vineyard is protected and therefore treated as little as possible, but as much as necessary. It has just been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) . The estate has two distinct terroirs: Les Creisses and Les Brunes. Les Creisses consists of an 11-hectare plateau of stony clay-limestone with deep soil and a development of 20 hectares on hillsides of Villafranchian gravel interspersed with woods. Les Brunes are brown earths of volcanic origin on hillsides planted with Mourvèdre and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Les Creisses is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Marselan Alicante, Mourvèdre and Carignan . The harvest is destemmed, followed by a long 20-day maceration. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months.
Grape varieties: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Marselan Alicante, Mourvèdre, Carignan
"Les Creisses 2023 offers a generous and harmonious expression of Languedoc: ripe black fruits, sweet spices, a touch of licorice and a hint of menthol. A sunny wine with a Bordeaux structure."
