The man behind Roc de Cambes' meteoric rise is undoubtedly one of the most inspired Gironde winemakers, François Mitjaville. Once his property in Saint-Emilion, Tertre-Rôteboeuf, had taken off, François decided to embark on a new project. He fell in love with this property at first sight. This is not surprising when you know this magnificent terroir overlooking the Gironde. The vines benefit from the tempering influence of the river, but also from a remarkably stable microclimate. François applied the same techniques and rigor that had made Tertre-Rôteboeuf so successful: very ripe grapes, strict sorting, and thoughtful vinification to obtain a fleshy wine with great ageing potential. Through these measures, he manages to produce a wine that is "out of the ordinary" compared to the appellation's standards. Château ROC DE CAMBES 2016 Roc de Cambes is a true benchmark in the Côtes de Bourg. As with his other Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf, François Mitjaville is dedicated to quality at all costs. His wines display his very ripe and concentrated style. The color is dense and the fruit is explosive, all complemented by a velvety palate, a Côtes de Bourg that improves over several years in the bottle.

Roc de Cambes is a true reference in the Côtes de Bourg. As with his other Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf, François Mitjavile worships quality at all costs. We find in his wines his very mature and concentrated style. The color is dense and the fruit is explosive, all complimented by a velvety mouth, a Côtes de Bourg that improves for several years in the bottle.
